#1 WakeUP for Windows Phone does not turn on the power on my remote PC

In order for WakeUP to be able to turn on your PC the following things are required.

1. Your PC must have a motherboard and a network card that support Wake On Lan feature. Please read the documentation of your motherboard, in order to configure your BIOS properly to allow WoL to work properly

2. You must check the Properties of your network adapter under Windows and make sure Wake Up Capabilities is set to Magic Packet (Advanced Tab) and that the adapter is allowed to wake up the computer (Power Management Tab)

3. Ensure your router forwards wake up packets (usually Port 9, UDP) to your network adapter or that they are broadcasted over your lan. It is not sufficient to forward UPD traffic on port 9 to your PC IP address since that is not valid when the PC is turned off. You will need to configure ARP table of your router to forward traffic to your PC MAC address. If still unsure how to proceed, please check additional documentation on how to configure WoL over the Internet on the web, there are lots of tutorials a Google search will provide.

4. Before trying to wake up your computer from your windows phone, try waking it up from web using various WakeOn LAN online services such as wakeonlan.me. If you don't manage to get it work from the web without the help WakeUP and WakeUpAir, then it won't work with them either. However, if you managed to wake up your PC from the web, then using the same settings, WakeUP will work too provided that your phone is connected to the internet. You dont need WakeUpAir service installed to wake up your PC.

#2 I can not execute predefined tasks on my remote PC

Make sure you have WakeUpAir service installed and running (check Control Panel, Services ).

Make sure the TCP port WakeUpAir uses (33335 by default) is public. You router must forward that port to the IP address of your PC

Make sure your firewall allows inbound traffic on WakeUpAir TCP port.

Make sure the PC configuration entered into WakeUP for Windows Phone is correct, including the user and password for the service (by default: user:admin; password: admin123)

#3 What is Abort Shutdown

By default the Shutdown command shuts down your computer in 30 seconds after it is issued. During this time there will be a message on the remote computer stating that WakeUpAir service will shutdown the computer in 30 seconds, and during this time you can Abort the shutdown.

#4 How do I add additional tasks

The application provides scripts for Shutdown, Restart and Abort Shutdown commands, however you are free to add your own. Each task is a cmd file with batch commands located into the scripts folder of WakeUpAir service. In order to expose a new task you need to edit the index.html file with Notepad, duplicate a task entry and change the details to your own command. You should also reset command list on your WakeUP for Windows Phone.

#5 My Live Tile is not working

WakeUP for Windows Phone registers to WakeUpAir service to receive push notifications. This registration is performed every time the computer configuration is changed (or created) and every time WakeUP is started but not often than 15 minutes. It is important to know that if WakeUpAir service is not available the registration is skipped with no error notification. WakeUP will eventually register for notifications but if you want to make sure see that you can access the service from your phone (you are able to see the list of tasks) and then go and edit and save your computer configuration without any change. This will force a new registration. You should allow the application to run for 30 seconds since the registration is performed in the background after saving. You can test Live Tile functionality by stopping and starting WakeUpAir service.
